Luke 22:66-23:56
Simplicity says so much
we have a saviour willing to identify with our shame
prepared to be of no reputation for our sake
with Jesus
His love for others exceeds his desire to be loved
Sometimes when we're too close to something
we can't see or recognize it for what it is.
we can be so close that we don't know
what we're looking at.
We need at those times a fresh perspective.
Just like the film clip we saw in between the Bible Readings

(2min29sec Easter Clip)
For many of us Easter becomes all too familiar.
Something we don't feel anything anymore.
We don't let it get to us any more.
like Jesus' friends from Galilee,
who stand around at a distance
let all the events wash over us.
It's Good Friday,
Maybe we find it hard to see
what there is about the cross that should get to us
Much of life's like that isn't it
Like those who can't see what's going on in our relationships
because we're too close.
Or we can't understand when marriages go bad
over the years we just stopped trying
We can't figure out what's going on
with our children,
because all we can see are our expectations
we tie up in our kids.
We are less than happy about our relationship with God,
because we've been in church since Day One,
we've become too hard
to know our own hearts to get a fresh perspective.
We're more complicated than we realize
recognising Jesus
really can only be answered
when we look at what happened
that first Easter
to again feel and understand everything that took place
the conviction, the trial the death & burial
to recognise who Jesus really is
o The conviction 22:66-71
as the death of Jesus is God's way of dealing with the mess sin causes in our lives
here in these events of that first Good Friday
nothing but animosity is hurled towards Jesus
